Chequered Flag /USA :
Chequered Flag International is pleased
to offer this 1972 Maserati Mexico by Vignale in Burgundy with Tan
leather. US model, 4.7, 5 speed with power steering, power windows and
A-C. 105 KMS (65,000 miles), low ownership Western State car with no
rust. Very good body with excellent paint with the exception of a
couple of tiny scratches on the left front fender, etc. Some bubbling
on the corners of the trunk lid - shown. Runs and drives excedingly
well, great power - no smoke, not noisy, good trans and synchros.
Clutch, brakes and steering are all good. Just had gas tanks cleaned,
carbs rebuilt, etc at a cost of $4,800 ( see bill ) after a 9 year dry
storage. Power windows work well. Very good original interior - seats
showing a little patina which I like - your average used car dealer
would be tempted to redye to the front seats - I'd prefer not to. No
tools or handbook. Only 480 cars built during the entire production run
of 7 years from 1966 to 1973, of those only 175 were built with the
more powerfull 4.7 litre engine. If you subtract all the automatics and
cars built without power steering ( another option ) you'll probably
find that less than 100 were built and probably less than half were U.S
bound. These really have great performance due the the V8 powertrain
with a top speed of 159 MPH. This is an excellent example of what used
to be an overlooked marque and model - now they're popping up on the
radar and many are a little too far gone to viably resusitate. This one
is one of the few that's been respected all along. Drive it or collect
it - you can't go wrong. Inspections encouraged. All sales AS-IS. Sales
tax and lic fees due if delivered in California.
